After the tournament, hey said “We had a great time playing soccer and

we are ALL  winners because this is a great thing we are doing.”

We would also like to thank Brian Neumeyer (Newtown HS Boys Soccer Coach and TTP Director at Panthers Den) and Magnus Nilerud (CT Summer Select™ and U of Bridgeport Women’s Soccer Coach) for organizing this tournament and giving their time and dedication.

CT Summer Select (TM) SOCCER

Practice Times and Dates:

All practices will be held at the Knight’s Field at the University of Bridgeport, CT

2012 Season practices will start week of June 21st and end week of August 16th

CT Summer Select (TM) Soccer provides the opportunity for motivated young players to develop their game within a well organized program under the expert guidance of dedicated and proven soccer professionals.

CT Summer Select (TM) Soccer is entirely complimentary to regular club programs and does not compete in any way. For less than the price of one week at a Residential Soccer Camp you can get a soccer experience that will last all summer long.

CT Summer Select (TM) Soccer runs from late June when the majority of clubs seasons are coming to completion until mid August. The program is designed for those looking for additional soccer development during the summer vacation period.

Directed by Magnus Nilerud and Scott McBride the program is backed with the very highest level of coaching experience and success.

The major purpose of CT Summer Select (TM) Soccer is to promote player development through training and playing opportunities. Under the overall direction of Magnus and Scott, CT Summer Select (TM) Soccer follows a philosophy of providing players an enhanced soccer education to permit them to develop to their maximum potential.

A uniform training syllabus has been developed to promote consistency throughout the program. Activities within each age group are coordinated to foster a defined developmental progression.

CT Summer Select (TM) will provide players with a competitive environment within which to train and play and attend 3 tournaments throughout the summer months. Players will no longer have to travel great distances to play with other top players and receive coaching from some of the best coaches Connecticut has to offer. As the program develops players with access to play in

  • Top Tournaments
  • Play in Europe
  • Attend Colleges to meet and train with college coaches

In the younger ages of the program players will stay close to home as they get older players will test their abilities against other states. At U14 we will aim to send the team to Europe to play in the Gothia Cup. As players progress through the program to the older ages they will be given advice and the opportunity to look and play in front of college coaches as we enter into the final stage of the program with College Tours.

All of this is available to players without any need to ever leave their current team at a cost which even when combined with their regular fees is still a great value. All teams will practice 2 x per week throughout the summer at the University of Bridgeport which is without doubt one the best soccer facilities in Connecticut
