NOGA Coaches Excel Yet Again . . .

NOGA's superb staff both past and present continue to endorse the companies history of outstanding achievement at all levels. As the Fall seson comes to a close for both college and high school teams NOGA staff have again brought success to their programs. . .

Dave Flower, led the Westhill High School Girls Varsity Soccer team to their first ever State Championship with a 2-1 victory over the previously undefeated Glastonbury High School. (see video below)  It capped off a great season for the Vikings who finished with an overall record of 16-2-2. Within that, Flower’s team won their Division title for the first time in 6 years and tied for second place in the FCIAC Conference – their best ever finish. Dave was also voted Coach of the year for FCIAC and CGSCA.

Alistair Lonsdale also had great success in his inaugural season at Greenwich Academy. He led the Girls Varsity Soccer team to the quarter-finals of the New England Prep Girls tournament where they were narrowly defeated on P.K.’s.  The Gators won the F.A.A. division title and tournament and finished the season with an overall record 16-2-3 which earned Lonsdale a nomination for New England Prep Girls coach of the year.

Scott McBride also had a season to remember with the University of Bridgeport Women’s Soccer team. The Purple Knight’s won the East Coast Conference title for the first time in the School’s history with an overall record of 16-2-3. They reached the N.C.A.A. tournament for the third year in succession but, unfortunately, couldn’t better last year’s run to the sweet 16 as they were defeated by Franklin Pearce.

Several other NOGA originals also led their present programs to top-class seasons. Ian Stone led the St. John's University Women's team to an outstanding season in the Big East and made the NCAA tournament. Not to be outdone Marc Reeves took a major role in leading the St. John's University Men's team to a Big East Championship and the NCAA playoffs. Paul McGinley became one of the winningest coaches in college soccer history as he took the Men's program at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas to yet another conference championship and NCAA berth. Greg Ashton guided the Davidson Women's Team to their best ever season and yet another NCAA berth. Meanwhile, Oliver Twelvetrees led Barton Community College to the NJCAA championships.

This level of success does not happen by accident the NOGA methods are tried and true. Great people with outstanding dedicatio and experinnce is always a winning combination . . .
